This volunteer position is ideal for someone with a background or interest in community outreach, sales, and research. In order to support non-profit organizations and establish relationships with community groups with the Region of Peel, this position will assist the Consultant, Member Relations with growing Volunteer MBC’s membership of non-profit organizations and community groups within the Region of Peel. Community members include non-profit organizations, networks, and associations, among others that will provide volunteer opportunities within the Region of Peel and are key stakeholders in the development of training, projects, and community engagement initiatives that support volunteerism in the Region of Peel.
Goals
Primary Responsibilities:
•Conducting an environmental scan of non-profit organizations in the Region of Peel with a focus on developing a prospective list of organizations based on membership criteria developed;
•Development of a marketing strategy to support recruitment of new members including but not limited to key messaging, process management, and benefits of registration;
•Utilizing a client relationship management system to support prospect listing tasks and new member tasks including but not limited to date of connection, programs and services offered, key contact, etc.
•Provide support for community outreach events as needed including attendance at conferences, displays, and community booths.

Required Qualifications
Qualifications/Competencies Desired:
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Ability to conduct and analyze research, and report findings
- Interpersonal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills

Training Provided
Orientation/Training:
•Orientation to Volunteer MBC provided on first day of term. Includes meet & greet with staff and volunteers, and Health & Safety.
•Training on the Online Volunteer Referral System and online project management system, Asana.

Schedule
Office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months during weekdays – flexibility offered.
6 month commitment required.
